How I Set Up MegaMentum LLC and an EIN (and Kept It Separate)

August 18, 2026

A separate legal and money identity from day one, so this experiment never tangles with anything else I run.

If you’re going to build an income stream, give it its own foundation. MegaMentum is a New Mexico LLC with its own EIN, checking account, and email. Here’s the order I use so a new venture does not inherit the mess of an old one.

The order that matters

  1. Register the LLC with the New Mexico Secretary of State (online, Articles of Organization). Use a real street address you control. Name a registered agent who will actually open the mail.
  2. Get the EIN from the IRS website. It is free. Same day if the site is up. Do not pay a reseller for this.
  3. Open a dedicated business checking account with the LLC name and EIN. Do not run Amazon, ads, or software bills through a personal account “just for now.”
  4. Do every signup (Amazon, tax interviews, payouts, this site’s host) under one business email and the EIN. Never the personal SSN, never a leftover Gmail from another company.

Why the wall is worth it

I already run other businesses. Mixing tax identity, payouts, and inboxes looks harmless for a week and expensive for a year. If MegaMentum grows, the books are already clean. If it fails, it fails inside its own box.

Small details that save a Saturday later

  • Keep a one-page PDF of the Articles, EIN letter, and operating agreement in a folder only this LLC uses.
  • Put the legal name on Amazon and the bank the same way, including LLC vs L.L.C.
  • Write down the registered-agent address. When a form asks for it six months later, you will not remember.

That’s the setup. Unromantic. Fast. The rest of this site is the experiment that sits on top of it.
